A rare Monday morning entry!

Something is wrong with the bridge today, so I need to take an alternate route. Sitting here eating my cereal. It's going to be a stressful week. Breathe in....out...in....out!

Maya's Quilt

Yup, need to take some close-ups!

Sunday check-in!

You know you're busy when you only work on your blog very early on Sunday mornings! Sometimes precious free time is so limited, I need to choose between sewing or blogging. With a quilt show two weeks away, sewing wins out!

I spent the better part of last week's evenings registering quilts for the show. You guessed it, another task I signed up for. Still have much to do before the show....Hope to work on something today, before company arrives. Yes, the hubster invited people for supper! At least he is doing the cooking. Do you think they'd mind if I sat and sewed while I entertained?

At last I have a finished project. Maya's quilt! Ok, I said it was finished but am working on the hanging sleeve!

And here is B-4, Chris's Soccer Field. You may ask why the blocks are on a funky pink and orange stripe background. Haha! That's my vinyl tablecloth from the dollar store that I have tacked up to a wall.

I am enjoying making these blocks. Now toying with the idea of eventually making a red and white one, or a black and white one! Wow! Why don't I put THAT idea off for awhile and focus on what needs to be finished first! LOL!

Here is B-1 Bachelor's Buttons....perfect? No! Finished? Yes!

Where I've been...part 2

To Martinsville, Virginia, to the NASCAR race! We had a great time, although we froze! FROZE! Oh well, at least it didn't snow. No sewing on this trip....not even a visit to a quilt shop! Home now to catch up, and back to responsibilities!

Where I've been!

After FOUR months of this, we had to get out of town. I booked off a week (and a couple of days), packed the car and headed south...where did we end up????

Dear Jane - A6 Uncle Homer

I'm slowly working backwards to catch up to The Dear Jane Quilt-a-long. So I am officially now 4/0/0/79. Will try to start a new one today, but it's a busy one, even if I'm off work.

I am now 4 behind, until a new block is announced today! ;)

Happy Easter!

Here is the basket for the residents. We are on our way up to have Easter lunch with my Mom.

Dear Jane - D3 Jason's Jacks

Wow, this one is bad! It's all wonky! Have decided to keep it anyway.

I know there was some discussion about background. I am using Kona Natural. Hope I have enough!

Cabane à Sucre

As part of our French Canadian heritage, spring brings a trip to the Cabane à Sucre, or Sugar Shack. The sap is running and is magically turned to maple syrup. The Saturday before Easter brings a friends and family tradition for lunch. Yup, we eat like pigs....eggs, ham, beans, deep fried pork rinds, potatoes.

Here is Abbey....now 6!

Michel and Gabriel, playing with camera phones

Karen, Jimmie, Abbey and Gabriel on the horse-led ride.

And everyone's favourite, the hot syrup on the snow! Mmmmm!

I'm sitting on the kitchen table again!

Why? Because I shouldn't !!

Dear Jane..2/0/0/68

The 2 in the title is the number of blocks completed (Really there are three, but one is a do-over). The second and third numbers are triangles and corners completed. None for me, and the last is how many pieces I've used...which for two blocks was 68.

These are A-1 and A-2 of the quilt which were made in (GASP!!) 2002-2003. To get me re-motivated, I've joined the blog Dear Baby Jane. Anina, the hostess picks two blocks a week to work on. We post on flickr when we're done. She provides great tips! I'm working on D-3 now.
